Centre sanctions 32 housing projects in Karnataka

The Centre has sanctioned 32 housing projects in the state of Karnataka as the polls approach. 25 housing projects have been sanctioned under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) and seven projects under the Basic Services to the Urban Poor (BSUP) programme. 

The projects have an estimated cost of Rs. 655 crore and a construction of 34,899 houses. 13,053 houses will be constructed under IHSDP and 21,846 houses will be constructed under BSUP.

This housing programme is a result of merging the Valmiki Ambedkar Awaas Yojana (VAMBAY) and the National Slum Development Programme (NSDP).
