Bankers expect interest rate hike due to inflation

According to most bankers the interest rates will harden in this quarter from April-June 2008.

The hike is expected due to the rising inflation, which is now touching a 13-month high of 6.68 per cent.

The Reserve Bank of India will have its credit policy meeting on April 29, in which the announcement of the interest rate hike is expected.
