Saya Suraj Aviation Private Limited to be set up

Saya Amusement Private Limited is set to open a flying school in a 50:50 joint venture with Suraj Water Park.

This Ahmedabad-based firm is a manufacturer of amusement and water park rides besides setting up parks on its own.

The institute to be called Saya Suraj Aviation Private Limited will have 16 small aircraft, a small airport and a major repair and overhaul (MRO) centre at an investment of Rs 100 crore.

Saya has put in an initial paid-up capital of Rs 25 crore for its new venture. It has already purchased 16 Cessna 'Skyhawk' trainer planes.

The company needs 1,000 acres of land and has applied with the Gujarat government for its allocation. The fee is expected to be Rs 18 lakh per student and the expected margin to the company is 10-11 per cent.

The company is yet to apply with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation for the required clearances.
