TACO to set up air bag testing facility in partnership with Microsys Technologies

Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd (TACO), an automobile components manufacturer is planning to set up a passenger car airbag testing facility in partnership with Canada’s Microsys Technologies.

According to media reports, the facility will be operational by year-end, would be configured with high-speed cameras capable of capturing 4,000 frames per second to analyse airbag deployment after a collision. It would come up at Tata AutoComp's facility in Pune.

Micrsoys Technologies would provide its 'SureFire System' equipment for the new airbag testing facility which has over 60 installations across the globe.
The SureFire Data acquisition system also facilitates measurement of forces generated by the airbag that can be correlated with the high-speed video using the Microsys analysis software.
