Maruti Udyog Limited has changed its name to
Maruti Suzuki India Limited after getting the approval from Registrar of
Companies. The name comes to effect from September 17,
2007. The company has been considering such a move to align its image with its global expansion plans, which got approved from its board of directors at its annual general meeting in the first week of September. This international dimension in the company’s name will help Maruti to expand its role in the global markets. The company plans to launch a model for export to Europe in the next couple of years, while building on its recent success in Asian and African markets, according to a company statement. |
