Hero Honda sales up by 12%, Bajaj sales down by 6%

Hero Honda has reported an increase of 12 per cent
in its August 2007 sales after three months of decline. It sold 240,875 units in
August 2007, as compared to 215,076 units in August 2006.
Its rival, Bajaj Auto shows a sales decline of 6 per cent in August 2007, marking its fifth consecutive month of falling sales. Bajaj sold 10,203 units in August 2007 against 182,013 units in August 2006. Recent product launches by Hero Honda include Pleasure, Splendor NXG and the new Passion Plus. The company is gearing up for the launch of its next new model, Exceed, which is scheduled for September 9. This is a 125cc bike and the company is targeting sales of 20,000 units of the new model in September 2007. |
