DaimlerChrysler to launch new C-class Merc in India by 2008

DaimlerChrysler India (DCI) is all set to launch
the new C-class Mercedes car in India by 2008. This model was launched in Europe
in 2007. The car, which has got a complete makeover along with some additional features will also see a mark-up in the price from the Rs 24-26.4 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) price range of the current models in the ‘C’ series. Amongst all of DCIL’s luxury car offerings, the high-end ‘S-class model’ has been witnessing the maximum growth till July 2007. According to statistics given by the company, while 248 units of the S-class were sold in 2006 while, the January to July 2007 sales figures are 235. The corresponding numbers for the C-class are 883 (against 484 sold in 2007), while the E-class sold 914 units in 2006 (671 in 2007 so far). |
