Suzuki Splash to hit market by next year

Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki Motors is
planning to launch its new car Splash, which is being positioned as a
multi-purpose vehicle, in India next year. Splash goes on sale in Europe from March 2008. It is bigger than the popular Swift and comes with three engine options — a 65 bhp, 1,000cc three-cylinder petrol, a 85 bhp 1,400cc four-cylinder petrol and a 75 bhp 1,300cc four-cylinder turbodiesel. Suzuki also announced that Splash will be followed by the new Alto. The Japanese carmaker also unveiled the Kizashi Concept, which is an indication that it wants to go upmarket. Though Suzuki has so far focused on making small cars, the car based on the Kizashi Concept will compete with Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic when it is launched in 2009. |
