Suzuki to invest Rs 150 cr to increase capacity at Gurgaon plant

Suzuki Motorcycles India (SMI) is planning to
increase its manufacturing capacity to 1.25 lakh units at its gurgaon plant by
next year with the investment of Rs 150
crore. SMI has launched a new scooter Access in the 125cc segment on Sept 17, and plans to introduce other models at regular internals to offer a complete bouquet of products in the two wheeler market by 2010. Media quoted Satya Sheel, MD, SMI saying, “We are a fringe player yet and don’t have the entire product line to match other big two-wheeler makers like Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto.†SMI will be launching many Indian specific products including 150 cc bikes in next three year to harness the potential of the Indian market said media reports. |
