Maruti launches Swift DZire

Maruti which had launched its premium sedan SX4 last year, has now launched its entry level sedan Swift DZire.

Maruti has priced the entry level sedan from Rs. 4.49 lakh- Rs. 5.90 lakh in the petrol variant and Rs. 5.39 lakh- Rs. 6.70 lakh in the diesel variant. The company said that the above prices are entry level and that it will revise them later.

The Swift DZire will compete with Tata Motor's Indigo CS which was recently launched at Rs. 3.66 lakh- Rs. 4.34 lakh and Mahindra- Renaults' Logan in the Rs. 3.89 lakh to Rs. 5.02 lakh range.

The Swift DZire offers features like integrated stereo, steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control and power windows. It also has dual Airbags, ABS with EDB, collapsible steering column and an i-CATS anti-theft facility.

Maruti will produce Swift DZire from its Manesar plant which also produces Swift. The company also said that it has no plans to export Swift DZire.
