Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSI) has got clean
chit from MRTPC, a watchdog of Fair trade code, in a case filed by Hyundai
Motors India Ltd, over the publication of advertisement, which the latter
claimed were “disparaging†said media
reports. Disposing of the one-year-old legal battle between the two auto giants, in which the Hyundai Motors accused MSI (formerly Maruti Udyog Ltd) of indulging in unfair trade practice by issuing “misleading†advertisements, Media quoted, the bench comprising M M K Sardana and D C Gupta saying, “We have prima facie come to the conclusion that there is no immediate cause of suspecting an unfair trade practice on behalf of the respondent and it may not be necessary to proceed in the main petition.†|
