Honda Siel India launches eight generation Accord

Honda Siel Car India (HSCI) launched its eighth generation Accord recently  in India. The company's flagship car, the seventh generation Honda Accord, had been the market leader in its segment till December 2007, when the company decided to stop its production, three months after the new Accord was launched in global Markets.

The new Honda Accord will be available in three variants - Accord 2.4, Accord 2.4 Elegance and Accord 2.4 Inspire. With an advanced 2.4 litre i-VTEC engine, the new Accord will cost between Rs. 16.49 lakh and Rs. 18.14 lakh, slightly higher than its outgoing Accord that was priced between Rs. 15 lakh and Rs. 17 lakh.

The new Accord will be sold in India as a completely knock down unit (CKD), imported from Japan and assembled at the company's plant in Greater Noida.

The executive segment, which has the BMW 3-Series, Honda Civic, Chevrolet Optra, Mercedes Benz E-Class, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla will also see some action next month.
