GM to launch cheapest car

General Motors (GM) India is coming up with another mini car that will be priced lower than its existing cheapest car.

The company is planning to introduce a small car by 2010 which will be priced lower than its current cheapest car Chevrolet Spark.

The base model of Chevrolet Spark costs around Rs. 323000 but with the company offering a discount of around Rs. 43000, the ex-showroom price comes to Rs. 2.80 lakh.

The auto major, however, said that it does not intend to compete with Nano, as it does not wish to compromise with the Chevrolet brand.

As reported by Financial Express, according to industry sources, GM India could be looking at a price band of around Rs. 2 lakh for the new small car.
