Ford to launch small cars in India

“Ford is likely to enter small car segment in the near future,” said Arvind Mathew, president & managing director, Ford India, during the launch of diesel version of Ford Fusion on July 17 in New Delhi.

The Diesel Ford Fusion is fitted with a 1.4 litre Duratorq engine and is priced at Rs 6.59 lakh (Ex showroom in New Delhi). Presently Ford India has less than 5 per cent share of the passenger car market. Ford India currently sells five models - Ikon, Fiesta, Mondeo and Fusion - all above the Rs 5 lakh price tag that defines upper limit of small car segment.
