Toyota plans to launch new Corolla in India next year

Toyota’s new Corolla is all set to be launched in Thailand and is expected to be launched in India late next year. The cost of manufacturing the next generation Corolla in India is expected to be Rs 75-100 crore. Toyota has spent about Rs 70 crore on current Corolla model which was launched in 2002.

Toyota planned to re-launch the new Corolla despite any major drop in sales because it was reaching the end of its lifestyle. Between January and June this year, Toyota sold about 3,500 units of Corolla compared to the 4,000 units during the same period in 2006. Toyota corolla is priced between 9 to 12 lakh.
