Date : May 2, 2008 Question My aplication for the personal loan has been rejected by 2 banks and the reason mentioned is bad credit history within the cibil records. Although I pay all my credit card bills on time and I have also fully repaid a personal loan in 2007 and a 2 wheeler loan in 2006. When I got in touch with CIBIL to get my credit report they asked me to get the control number from the bank which the banks has denied to provide stating that I may take a legal action acainst them to deny me the loan using the control number (I have no intension of doing it). CIBIL says that they cant provide the credit report unless I get the control number. Please let me know my options and how can I know the exact reason of a bad credit history in the CIBL records. Answer You can ask for your credit report from the bank that rejects your loan application. The report will outline what exactly is reported by the bank in respect to your credit account and enable you to take action. It will necessarily disclose the facts regarding your credit history, like delayed payments in the past, dues settled without write-offs on the part of the bank. |
