| Dear Sir/Madam, I had taken a vehicle loan (Bike Loan) from Bajaj Finance in 2003 for a tenure of 36 months. I have paid 28 EMI and rest 8 were not paid on the time however i paid them in the last month of the loan tenure. Now Bajaj Finance is charging me 150 rupees for 11 months for every EMI not paid instead of charging me the regular loan interest on the principle amount. Is this a correct way of calculating the charges if not whom shall i contact for this as Bajaj Finance is not co-operating and forcing me to pay the charges at the rate of 150 per EMI for 11 months. | The charge will be over and above your EMI which will be a late payment charge. All banks charge a late payment charge which will also be mentioned in your loan agreement. If it is not mentioned and you think the bank is wrongly charging you the same, make a complaint on the banks web site. If you do not get a reply within 2-3 weeks make a complaint on the banking ombudsman site on www.bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in | |
