| I am a sr officer in a PSU , taken home loan from Axis Bank in 2003, can the mortgage of house be extended to take care of loan for MS from USA for my son. Loan amount required is 15 Lakh. | |

| You should check with Axis bank whether they will be willing to consider an additional loan on the security of the same house. Axis bank might conisder it if you have been regular in your repayment so far, the current market value of the house is such that the additional loan is more than adequately covered and also your income is enough to support both the loans. If they are not willing to consider the loan and all the 3 conditions are satisfied you can consider shifting your home loan to a public sector banks which are active in the area of education loan. The same bank can give you an additional education loan based on your income, repayment track record and collateral security. | |
