Date : Sep 30, 2008 Question i have a mortgage loan i want to apply for a education loan that requires security so can i use the same mortgage property documents as co lateral security with the bank..the mortgage is for rs 6 lakh Answer One can mortgage a free-hold property as a collateral security for an education loan. Since your property is already mortgaged to a bank, it cannot be provided as security. You can also provide collateral security such insurance policies with high surrender value, mutual fund units, shares, jewellery, NSCs etc. |
