| I am a defaulter in credit card section. I wanted to settle down my account with the bank and remove my name from the CIBIL black list. I spoke to the bank people. They are asking me to pay 35000 extra money and they will remove my name from the list. If I give 10000 extra money then settlement will be done but the name wont be removed from the list.They will give me the settlement letter also. If I settle the account and the name is not removed from the list then wil it be a problem in future getting loans even if I have settlement letter and the name still in the CIBIL database? | |

| Even if you make full payment, name from CIBIL cannot be de-listed. It stays in the Credit bureau for 7 years. But it is always advisable to pay off the full dues of the bank along with all the penal interest. The reason is that at least if you make the full payment now you will be able to explain the genuinity of the reasons why the default happened and have some chances of getting loans or credit at decent terms in future. | |
