| I hold a credit card , when it was issued the limit was Rs.15,000. always i made minimum due but due to some sickness ( got severe skin burn in whole body) and i left the job and could not paid the amount in time from last 7/8 months, now when i saw the bill.. it shows my credit limit is Rs.36,000 and i need to make 18,000 immediately. ( As per RBI rules Bank can't increase the limit without card holders written permission), i want to sattle the card with my previous credit limit. Will you suggest me the best options to comeout from the issue smoothly. | |

| You will have to pay off the full dues of the bank along with all the penal interest irrespective of any charge in the credit limit ( The credit limit offers only to expenditure incurred by you. It will not restrict the bank from recovery money if the credit limit exceeded because of interest chargeable on overdue amount).Your name would already have been reported as a defaulter to the credit bureau. At least if you make the full payment now you will be able to explain the default caused due to your heath problem and have some chances of getting credit at decent terms in future. | |
