| I had a credit card with Citibank and the an issue with late fees in one particular payout has led to the payable amount spiralling. Bank guys tell me that if I pay the amount actually spent+some part of the accrued interest, they will give me a letter stating that my name would be removed from CBIL. Is that possible/true? |

| Once your name gets listed in CIBIL defaulter list it cannot be removed. And your default stays on the credit bureau's record for 7 years so you will always face an issue in getting a loan even after clearing off your default. The best you can hope for is that the proposed lender will listen to your side of the story and may consider granting the loan if he is convinced about the genuinely of the reasons why the default happened.
