Date : Aug 7, 2008 Question I had surrendered my SBI credit card in year 2004. Now I have started receiving calls from the Bank's collection department that my card was not blocked and they are asking me to some late fee charges etc. and also they have posted my name in the cibil as defaulters. The collection agent says that if my account is settled then they will not remove my name from cibil, but update their records as 0 outstanding. He says that after some time, since my outstanding will not increase, my name will automatically be removed from cibil. But the second collection agent denied it and said that I have to pay all the dues and take the letter from the bank that they would notify the cibil to get the name removed otherwise it will remain in the cibil forever.
