The bank has a legal right to adjust all dues outstanding
to it against any other balance that may be lying with it and due to the same
consumer. Legally speaking they do not have to consult you before making such
an adjustment. So, we will advise you not to open an account with the bank. But
we will also advice you to pay the outstanding dues along with the penal
charges. If you make the full payment now you will be able explain the
genuinety of the reasons why the default happened and have some chances of
getting loans or credit cards at decent terms in future. |
