Date : Aug 11, 2008 Question I had taken loan against car 4m HDFC Bank. Some of my EMI's got bounced as I was facing severe financial problems. But I tried to pay the EMI'S in the same month. At the end I paid all the bouncing charges even though they charge Rs. 450/- per each cheque and also fine and other charges FULLY WITHOUT ANY REBATE OR ANY DISCOUNT FULLY WITHOUT ANY SETTLEMENT. They promised that my name will not be put in the Defaulter list of CIBIL. The HDFC Bank is well known for making false promises. How can I confirm that my name is not the defaulters list. Should I ask HDFC bank to issue a confirmation letter. Will they give me in writing. Is their any provision to get it confirmed from CIBIL. One thing should be kept in mind that Financial condition of a person can change overnight. Nothing is permanent. Answer You can come to know if your name is in the defaulters list only if your loan or credit card application gets rejected. No bank will give you in writing that your name is not in the defaulters list. CIBIL is a credit bureau and not a bureau that only maintains a list of defaulters. |
