Date : Mar 13, 2008 Question i took homeloan of rs. 600000/-from icici in 2001 at fixed rate. i changed to floating when rates were decreasing. from 2005 the rates again stareted rising. presently my roi is 14.25%. the bank is not lowering the rate when it is lowered by most banks. is icici a cheat bank? how i'll know correctness of the rate they are charging from me? Answer Since you have taken a home loan at a floating rate of interest, it is anyways subject to change. You should explore the option of changing your home loan lender as you should be able to get an interest rate of around 10% to 10.50% if you have maintained a good track record of repayment on the loan.
